K. L. Rahul is an Indian international cricketer who is currently the captain of the Indian Test Team. Born in Bangalore, Karnataka, India on 18 April 1992, Rahul is a right-handed batsman and occasional wicket-keeper. In addition to representing India, he also plays domestic cricket for Karnataka and captains the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League.

Rahul made his international debut in 2014, and in his second Test match, he scored his maiden Test century. He was the first Indian cricketer to score a century on debut in Men’s One Day Internationals, and the third Indian cricketer to score a century in all three formats of international cricket. K. L. Rahul grew up in Mangalore, where he received his early education at the NITK English Medium School. He later went to St. Aloysius College for his pre-university studies. Cricket was always a major part of his life, and he started training at the age of 10. Soon enough, he was playing matches for Bangalore United Cricket Club and his club in Mangalore.

At the age of 18, Rahul decided to take his cricket career to the next level and moved to Bangalore, where he enrolled in Jain University. Here he was able to hone his cricketing skills, as well as gain a valuable education.
